2 Simple Ways To Bring RSS Readers Visit Your Blog

by Place for Bloggers

Some bloggers are concerned that RSS subscribers would never visit their blog. They fear it would lower number of ad impressions and decrease revenue.

One way to get subscribers visit your blog is show them only a teaser for the post and a more link which will bring them to your blog. Personally I don’t like it. In my opinion RSS is another way of receiving content and as a subscriber I expect to see full content.

In this post I’ll discuss 2 simple ways to bring your RSS readers back to your blog.

Embed links to other blog posts within your post content

So many words were written about the importance of internal backlinks for getting higher page rank, that people tends to forget those links are initially designed for keeping your visitors in your blog by exposing them to more relevant content.

In RSS feeds it is even more important to embed backlinks as the post isn’t hosted in your blog page and page sections such as ‘Most Popular Post’ and ‘Category List’ are not available.

Use Related Post Plugin

Yet Another Related Posts WordPress Plugin  (YARPP) gives you a list of posts and/or pages related to the current entry, introducing the readers to other relevant content on your site.

Agree with you that we should provide FULL Content to our subscribers. Showing part of it is just a cheap way to entice the subcriber to visit our website and before long they might get fed-up and unsubsribe from our list.
