There are many ways I use to promote my blog. Some require daily effort such as social networks, while in other cases you need just a one time effort. In this article I’ll present a list of 10 blog directories to submit your blog to. Not all are free blog directories but all worth the effort.
Submit your blog to the following directories
Best of the Web Blogs
Maybe the Internet’s oldest directory, exist from 1994. A very selective service and only list valuable blogs. A link from best of web blogs is well deserved and will increase visibility in major search engines.
Blogged.com
Not only a blog directory but also a place where you can feedback for your blog. Blogs are reviewed, rated, and categorized by blogged.com editors. It is also a good place to find new blogs.
Bloggeries
Rank in under 30,000 in alexa.com. Has a very clean and simple theme. readers are able to find what they are looking very simple including your blog.
OnToplist.com
Act also as a social network.
Blog Catalog
Another social network for bloggers. Let you create and join groups to discuss different topics.
Bigger Blogger
Let you submit links and articles. Good to have Google index you if you just started your blog. You’ll get a real backlink (without the rel=nofollow) which always help with your search engine placement.
Bloggapedia
I like that search box is on top. Show on homepage community members and top rated blogs.
Bloggernity
Search box is on top too. List newly listed blogs on homepage.
Bloglisting
Has many categories. Show latest featured links on homepage.
Spillbeanis
Nice & aesthetic design. Contain many categories.

Very nice List of Blog Directories! I get the most traffic from Blog Catalog, but I´m using only a few of your recommendations. I will try the others too, you can´t get to much traffic to your blog!

The list is also important as a way to get your blog indexed. Regarding traffic, it is never easy but the traffic you will get from this list worth the hour you will spend registering.
